Rodgers Proves to be Unstoppable in Vikings Loss

The Vikings lost by 38 points to the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night, with final score, 45-7.

You could tell this was going to be a long game right from the start. Less than 2 minutes into the game, the Packers ran back a punt 80 yards and took the lead 7-0.  Later in the 1st, a 24 yard touchdown pass thrown by Aaron Rodgers gave the Packers a 14-0. In the 2nd quarter, the Packers only got a field goal, leaving the halftime score at 17-0. In the 3rd quarter, threw his 2nd touchdown pass, making the score 24-0. Adrian Peterson ran it in from 9 yards out to bring the score to 24-7. After that, 2 more Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes (3rd here and 4th here) as well as a touchdown run sealed the deal, with the final 45-7.

Christian Ponder (Vikings) went 16-34 on pass attempts for 190 yards and 1 interception. Aaron Rodgers (Packers) went 23/30 on pass attempts for 250 yards and 4 TD's.

Christian Ponder was running for his life and having to throw with a guy right in his face. The Vikings have more problems than we think. The blocking is awful and the defensive secondary is full of young players (except Antoine Winfield), so hopefully that will improve over time.

I decided that I will now cheer for the Vikings and anyone playing the Packers (we were doing that already anyway, right?) The Packers are simply a great team and may be unstoppable, but I have hope that next year the Vikings will be a better team.

As we look ahead to next week, the Vikings take on the Raiders at home in Minneapolis. The Raiders (5-3) are coming off a win over San Diego.
