Wayzata Developer Plans Expanded 'Shopps on 101'

The building would be built in the southwest corner of the Cub Foods parking lot.

Wayzata-based H.J. Development wants to build a 14,000 square foot building in the southwest corner of the existing Cub Foods parking lot, according to documents filed with the City of Minnetonka.

The documents do not specify which companies could move into “The Shopps on 101”—as the project is called—but staff noted that the building could hold several retail businesses and restaurants.

The project, located at 4801 County Road 101, requires a preliminary plat, a site and building plan review and a conditional use permit for restaurant use and outdoor seating areas.

A public hearing before the Planning Commission is tentatively scheduled for April 25. The City Council is expected to review the project April 29.

H.J. Development plans for construction to begin in the spring and turnover to tenants in the late summer, according to the company’s website.
