Senior Daycare Planned Near I-394 and Hopkins Crossroads

Joy Senior Center expects to have enough space for 50 to 60 clients.

A Savage company wants to build a 60-person adult daycare center near Interstate 394 and Hopkins Crossroads, according to plans filed with the City of Minnetonka.

Joy Senior Center would provide “health and social type services to the seniors of the community” from a 3,520-square-foot facility in the Woodside Office Park, located at 10550 Wazyata Blvd.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services will ultimately determine licensed capacity, but the company expects to have enough space for 50 to 60 clients per day.

Customers would receive checkups by registered nurses, health monitoring, medication management and other services. There would also be a daily exercise program and field trips to local places.

The facility would operate between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays. Buses would carry the clients from their homes to the center.
