In early January, Macy’s announced the consolidation of Macy's Men's and Home store with its main Macy's store, creating space for Nordstrom in the former Macy's Men's and Home space.

Minnetonka city officials have expressed interest in making Ridgedale into a destination instead of just a shopping center.

Mayor Terry Schneider said Ridgedale could become a "mini downtown" with character.

"We've never had a true downtown, and this is as close as we could come to that."

Schneider said with these improvements could come better parking areas, improved roadways and more nearby housing.
