Minnetonka Whole Foods Marks Opening Week With Festivities

Whole Foods leads its Oct. 12 opening with a Sunday Fall Harvest.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Whole Foods opens its doors to the public, offering consumers a new source for organic, and locally-sourced foods.

"It's great," said Dan Blackburn told Patch, who currently heads up the Whole Foods Minneapolis location. "The neighborhood is great. It's just going to be a really good thing."

Many in the neighborhood seems to agree. The Minnetonka Whole Food’s Facebook page has already garnered over 1,400 “likes” and response to the store has been positive.

While the Minnetonka store won’t have a Jamba Juice or offer cooking classes, both familiar features of the Lake Calhoun location, it will offer a catering service, customized gift baskets and will be the only Whole Foods in Minnesota with a fully armed and operational Taqueria– serving nachos, burritos, gorditas and tacos, all made-to-order.

Grand opening festivities will begin at 8:45 a.m. with the doors swinging open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The first 200 customers will receive a free, reusable tote bag. Look for plenty of free samples and prize drawings to mark the occasion.

Whole Food's hours will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
