Medica Partners With Plymouth Co. on Healthy Foods Discount Program

Members of the health insurer will receive cards that give them savings at grocery stores.

Minnetonka-based Medica is the first insurer to partner with Plymouth-based Solutran on a smart coupon program that gives people discounts on healthy food, Twin Cities Business reported Thursday.

Medica members will receive discount cards in the mail starting in June. Members can then visit a website that lists the available discounts and participating stores. They then present their cards at checkout to receive the discount.

Cub Foods, Lunds and Byerly’s and Rainbow Foods are among the participants.
