Ike's Food & Cocktails Finds Locale in Minnetonka

The restaurant will open this spring, inside the former Prima restaurant.

Ike's Food & Cocktails, a popular downtown Minneapolis restaurant, will be a new addition this spring to Minnetonka's restaurant scene.

Owner Carl “Chip” Isaacson and crew are busy with renovations at the vacant restaurant site (formerly Prima) at County Road 101 and Highway 7. Prima, an Italian restaurant, closed in February 2010. Before that, the space housed Big Buck Roadhouse.

Finance & Commerce reports that Isaacson sold his stake in the downtown Ike's and the licensing rights for a pair of restaurants at the at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to partner Gene Winstead to focus on the Minnetonka site. This is Ike's first expansion into the Twin Cities suburbs.
