Daniel P. Kohen, MD Joins Partners in Healing

Partners in Healing of Minneapolis is pleased to announce that Daniel P. Kohen, M.D., an internationally-recognized developmental-behavioral pediatrician and expert educator in clinical hypnosis, has joined Partners in Healing. He is now scheduling patients at the Minnetonka location. 

Dr. Kohen is an expert in clinical hypnosis. He has taught thousands of physicians and therapists around the world since 1978 under the auspices of the University of Minnesota Medical School and national and international health care organizations. He sees children and teens from throughout the Twin Cities, neighboring states, and from around the United States. 

Dr. Kohen’s work focuses on empowering children and teaching them skills before pills.  He helps children effectively manage a variety of health problems, including:

·         Chronic and recurrent pain (migraine and other headaches; abdominal pain including IBS or Crohn’s disease)

·         Habit problems (thumbsucking; hair pulling; nail biting; bedwetting; tics and Tourette’s syndrome

·         Anxiety and Worry (performance anxiety; test anxiety; stress reduction)

·         Sleep problems (difficulty falling asleep; waking in the night; nightmares; night terrors; sleepwalking)

Dr. Daniel Kohen is co-author (with Dr. Karen Olness) of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy with Children, 4th edition (2011), the definitive text on child hypnosis.  Dr. Kohen is also the author of over 75 published manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters.
