Cities 97 Sampler Hits Target Stores Thursday

Last year, the in Minnetonka had "quite the line" outside before opening up on Cities 97 Sampler day. The CD sold out within two hours.

This year, the store has between 700-800 copies of the popular sampler to sell. There is a purchase limit of two CDs per person, and the disc sells for $25.97 each.

Staff at the Ridgedale Target were keeping information about the Thursday morning release of Volume 23 a secret.

Radio station Cities 97 says 100 percent of the proceeds from the sampler go to Minnesota charities. If it sells out, nearly $800,000 will go to organizations that serve local adults, children and animals.

This year's sampler includes 19 tracks by artists such as Florence and the Machine, O.A.R., Adele, Matt Nathanson and Sara Bareilles. Click here to hear the tracks.
