Minnetonka's Alan Bersten to Compete in Top 16 of 'So You Think You Can Dance'

Judges praised Bersten's athleticism after Tuesday's performance.

After a close call last week, Minnetonka native Alan Bersten had no problems wowing viewers of last night’s So You Think You Can Dance.

He and his partner, Jasmine Mason, danced an offbeat, royalty-inspired contemporary number to Charlotte Martin’s “Veins.”

“Completely bonkers, but fabulously so!” host Cat Deeley exclaimed after the performance.

Judge Nigel Lythgoe praised Bersten’s athleticism—particularly his strength when lifting Mason during the routine. Said Judge Mary Murphy: “He’s got guns for sure.”

However, the judges did want the couple to cut loose a little more. That cost Mason, who was eliminated.
