Minnetonka's Alan Bersten Makes Top 20 on 'So You Think You Can Dance'

Alan Bersten, a native of Minnetonka and Hopkins High School graduate, made it into the Top 20 on Tuesday's episode of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance."

Alan, 19, and his older brother were two of the dancers vying for the coveted spots. Gene Bersten was cut, but Alan will continue his ballroom dancing on a national stage.

Gene and his wife run the dance studio Dance With Us America at Southdale Center in Edina. 

Alan wrote a heartwarming message on Facebook to his brother Tuesday after the episode aired:

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank my role model and my best friend, my brother Gene Bersten. He has inspired me and taught me everything I know!"
