Minnetonka ‘Voice’ Contestant Performs for Local Viewers

Holly Henry's performance from the show shot up iTunes.

The Voice is still its blind auditions phase where coaches pick their teams, but that doesn’t mean Twin Cities fans have had to go without seeing their favorite contestant, 2012 Hopkins High School grad Holly Henry.

Henry—known as Holly Heinrich when she was in school—performed one of her own songs in KARE 11's studio and spoke with local media outlets about her journey. The Minnetonka resident told the Pioneer Press how her parents encouraged her to audition for the show and how she went to an open casting call in Chicago.

Henry, who works as a waitress because she can't afford college, was quick to impress judges when she performed during her Sept. 24 performance on The Voice. Within seconds of hearing her start Coldplay's "The Scientist," country star Blake Shelton buzzed in his approval Henry—known as Holly Heinrich when she was in school.
