Minnetonka Theatre Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Gala Concert will feature alumni from the cast of past shows.

On June 16 Minnetonka Theatre will welcome back alumni cast members from past shows to celebrate the theatre’s 10 Year anniversary of producing shows under artistic director R. Kent Knutson. The Gala Concert, Raise the Curtain, will reunite some of the theatre’s greatest casts from shows including Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Annie Get Your Gun, and many more. The best and the brightest stars of past productions will sing to celebrate 10 years of great theatre.

A cast of over 100 alumni members are schedule to appear, including: Greta Grosch (Church Basement Ladies, Hello, Dolly!), Anne Reason (West Side Story, Grease), Nate Irvin (Jesus Christ Superstar), Lauren Bartelt (Oklahoma), Conn McCartan (Damn Yankees, Drowsy Chaperone), and special guest star Jen Burleigh-Bentz (Broadway’s Mamma Mia).

Artistic Director R. Kent Knutson is an award winning director with 40 years of experience. She moved from Anoka in 2002 to work with Minnetonka Theatre. Since that time the theatre program has grown and is recognized as one of the premier high school acting programs in the country. has earned top recognition from the Hennepin Trusts Spotlight program. Knutson’s students go on to attend some of the nation’s most prestigious theatre college conservatories in the country.

Raise the Curtain will be performed on June 16 at 7:30pm at the . Ticket proceeds support Minnetonka Theatre’s on-going programming.
