LISTEN: Minnetonka Natives Release New Music

John Mark Nelson started a new song series, and Holly Henry has just released a new song.

A pair of Minnetonka musicians have given fans some new pieces to enjoy.

John Mark Nelson, a 19-year-old Minnetonka High School grad, has already put out two albums of his own work. But his latest endeavor is an interpretation of others’ works that he calls the John Mark Nelson Covers Project.

Nelson asked fans to recommend songs he should sing. Each week, he’ll post a new performance. He kicked off the series Thursday with a rendition of Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Check it out in the video player above and then subscribe to his YouTube feed ensure you catch each new release.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see Holly Henry return to The Voice. The show’s “battle rounds” begin Monday night. The 2012 Hopkins High School grad, known as Holly Heinrich when she was in school, will have to sing a song selected by Coach Blake Shelton against one of her teammates.

But for those who can’t wait, Henry has released a new song called “Paper Love” on Bandcamp. Listen to it in the player above—be sure to hit “Buy Now” if you like it.
