Katie Rich of Minnetonka and Ethan Mack of Portland, Maine, gave Pope Francis a white zucchetto (or skullcap) as he passed them on Wednesday.
Both Boston College students are studying in Rome. The students reported that after he put it on, he gave a guard the hat he had been wearing to give to the students.
