Minnetonka Clinic Gets Grant to Improve Quality in Allergy Care

Eight grants were given out by Fairview Physician Associates to select member clinics.

Minnetonka’s Advancements in Allergy and Asthma Care will receive one of eight grants from Fairview Physician Associates (FPA) to improve the quality of care it provides its patients.

As part of the annual grant program, FPA member clinics like Minnetonka’s received varying amounts of funds up to $10,000. A total of $53,000 was given through the eight grants.

“Through our small grant program and other tools, we aim to help member clinics achieve our Triple Aim of exceptional patient care and patient and family experience, while holding down total cost of care,” Dr. William Nersesian, FPA chief medical officer, said in a press release.

The Minnetonka clinic will specifically use the funds to determine whether patient education improves emergency action plan compliance to decrease poor health outcomes associated with serious allergic reactions, the release said.

The clinic will also provide its own funding or in-kind services to support its project and provide data for FPA to share with other member clinics, which will hopefully improve clinical quality and promote care innovation.
