It's Leap Year! And This Is Leap Day?

We've waited four years for this day.

I've waited a long four years for this day. Actually, we all have.

As some expert from Wikipedia shares with us, a leap year is a year containing one additional day in order to keep the calendar year synchronized with the seasonal year.

This day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure, because the earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days. A year that is not a leap year is called a "common year."
