Holiday Show Opens At Minnetonka Center for the Arts

On Thursday night, Nov. 14, the Arts of the Holidays Show & Sale opens the gallery doors to the public and launches 36 days of festive holiday shopping. 

Featuring more than 100 local artists, the Arts of the Holidays Show & Sale at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts offers a juried collection of handmade art and fine craft items, ideal for holiday giving. 

The Grand Opening from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 14 will feature an appetizer buffet provided by the Art Center Café, cash bar and music by pianist Sandy Atlas, former composer with the band Lipps, Inc., famous for their 1980 disco hit Funkytown.

Following the successful Hautman Brothers Wildlife Art Exhibit in October, the Minnetonka Center for the Arts gallery is being transformed into to an overflowing holiday boutique. Like an outdoor art fair indoors, shoppers will discover original gifts in a variety of media, including pottery, glass, fiber, wood, photography, printmaking, paintings, sculpture and jewelry. All purchases directly support local artists and the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, which provides visual arts education, exhibits and outreach programs for all ages, interests and abilities.

This year the Minnetonka Center for the Arts is extending its hours to become a holiday destination and gathering place for friends and family, welcoming all who make the scenic drive along Lake Minnetonka’s shoreline. 

The Arts of the Holidays Show & Sale and the Art Center Café will be open weekends – Saturdays and Sundays in December. The Art Center Café will also be open to welcome visitors with lunch, homemade soups, sandwiches and salads, warm beverages and fresh-baked treats.

 Arts of the Holidays Hours

               Monday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

               Open Thursdays to 8 p.m.

               Sundays (December 1 - 22), Noon to 4 p.m.

Art Center Café Hours

               Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

               Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

               Sundays, Noon to 2 p.m.

               (Saturdays, Nov. 16 - Dec. 21; Sundays, Dec. 1 - 22)

Arts of the Holidays will also be open at Ridgedale Center in the Minnetonka Center for the Arts shop located on the 2nd floor by Sears, November 29 (Black Friday) through Dec. 23. 

The Ridgedale shop hours are Mondays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m.
