Why Go: You are invited to the opening reception for the art exhibit featuring work by artists recovering from chemical dependency.

When: Friday, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Take the kids over for a morning story time featuring the softer side of big animals.

Southwest Minneapolis
 

When: Friday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Enjoy a live performance from 4onthefloor and the movie Strange Brew will follow at sunset, approximately 9 p.m.

When:  Sunday, Aug. 28 from 2-5 p.m.
Where: 
Why Go: Community members are invited to an afternoon at the park to honor Martin Luther King Jr. with speakers, musical entertainment, refreshments and the opportunity to meet the sculptor of Freedom Form #2.

Why Go: Comedian Bill Bauer may be profanity-free but there are no other limits for finding "the funny" in life.

Why Go: See if any of these cats meow your name. There will also be cat care demonstrations.
