It was an exciting day of hockey Saturday for Minnetonka High School's varsity teams at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus.

Minnetonka played in two of the five games at the Hockey City Faceoff. Both the boys and girls teams won their games.

Top-ranked Minnetonka faced No. 9 Eden Prairie at 10 a.m. and beat them 2-1 in overtime. The Skippers lead the game 1-0 since the middle of the first period, but Eden Prairie tied it up with 51 seconds left in the game. Defenseman Sydney Baldwin scored in overtime for the Minnetonka win.

The boys took the ice at 12:30 p.m. in a matchup against No. 7-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Benilde-St. Margaret's got the first goal, but Minnetonka scored four straight goals to beat their Section 6AA rival.
