Minnetonka to Investigate Lot, Home Size Guidelines

Also this week: '9 to 5 The Music' makes fun of the glass ceiling, salsa dancing comes to the amphitheater and fall recreation activities are announced.

Minnetonka always has something going on. Each Monday, Patch will kick off the week with a look ahead at what you need to know to join in. Here’s a look at what happening this week:

  • 9 to 5 The Musical continues this weekend: come watch three female coworkers get together to best their boss in this Minnetonka Theatre production. The play runs through Aug. 3—with this weekend’s showings at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. More details can be found here.
  • Find some fun recreation activities: Minnetonka’s fall Recreation Services brochure will be online Friday. Registration starts Aug. 5 for residents and Aug. 19 for non-residents. The brochure will be posted here when it’s available.
  • Salsa dancing heats up the amphitheater: The nine-piece salsa band Salsa del Soul is this week’s Music in the Park act. They’ll be entertaining concert goers at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnetonka Civic Center Campus outdoor amphitheater (14600 Minnetonka Boulevard).
  • City hammers out housing policies: Lot and home sizes have been controversial issues in Minnetonka in recent years. The council is set to come up with some general guidelines at a Monday work session.
  • Reminder of the week: Get those registrations in for Tour de Tonka. Minnetonka Community Education’s annual bike ride through Lake Minnetonka communities raises money for ICA Food Shelf. Tour de Tonka takes place Aug. 3. More details here.
