Hopkins High School Grad Advances on 'The Voice'

Holly Henry made it out of the battle rounds with a performance of Natalie Imbruglia's 'Torn.'

Hopkins High School grad Holly Henry advanced out of The Voice’s battle rounds Tuesday night with a performance "Torn," a 1997 hit by Natalie Imbruglia.

Henry sang against fellow Blake Shelton teammate Cilla Chan, a 22-year-old who moved to the United States from Singapore to attend college at Stanford. The Voice only showed a clip of Henry’s performance, so viewers didn’t get to see much of Henry.

“I need to figure out which one of you can really rise up,” Coach Blake Shelton said.

However, the full song is available on iTunes—where it’s got a nearly five-star rating.

“Seriously bummed they didn’t show her entire performance on The Voice,” a user named Ashley-Marie wrote. “But the song is absolutely amazing. She has such incredible talent. I can’t wait to hear more from her!”

Henry will now proceed to the knockout rounds. She and the other artists will be paired with members of their own teams—but only find out minutes before performing who they’re going to compete against.  Unlike the battle rounds, they select their own songs and try to wow the coaches. The losing artists are sent home.
