Get to Know Minnetonka School Board Candidates at Upcoming Forum

Also: Rep. Darrell Issa is visiting Minnetonka, and small-business owners can learn about MNsure.

Voters in the Hopkins school district will get their first chance to hear from this year’s School Board candidates Tuesday.

The League of Women Voters of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and Hopkins has scheduled a candidate forum for 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Minnetonka Community Center.

All questions are taken in writing from the audience. The forums will be televised live and rebroadcast on local cable. Most will also be available on streaming video.

The Minnetonka School Board forum is scheduled for Oct. 1, and the Minnetonka City Council forum is scheduled for Oct. 3.

  • Rep. Darrell Issa Coming to Minnetonka: California Rep. Darrell Issa will meet with Minnesotans from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday during a fundraiser at the Lafayette Club on Lake Minnetonka. Tickets to the fundraiser cost $100 for the reception, which includes a buffet; $250, which also includes a photograph with Rep. Issa and drinks and $1000 for a round table.   • Learn about MNsure: Small Business Minnesota is hosting educational forums about MNsure, the state’s new health insurance exchange. The Minnetonka forum takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Robert H. Rohlf Room on the main floor of the Ridgedale Library and Government Center. The forum costs $10, which includes appetizers, soft drinks and program materials.
