Minnewashta Elementary School serves neighborhoods in Chanhassen, Shorewood, Tonka Bay and Victoria. Located off Highway 7, kids here take classes in reading, writing, grammar, spelling, handwriting, math, science, social studies, health, art, music, media and technology, and physical education. Minnetonka School District elementary students also have the option of Chinese or Spanish Immersion beginning in kindergarten.

Transportation by school bus is provided for the majority of children residing in the school district at no charge to the family. Two hot lunch choices are offered each day; meals are planned in accordance with requirements of the federal school lunch guidelines.

The Minnewashta Elementary Explorer's Club provides before- and after-school care. Hours are 6:45am until school starts and after school until 6pm.
