Join us for a fun event. Family Culture Fest: Adventures around the globe on November 15 at Excelsior Elementary School from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. 

Pick up a passport and travel to over 20 countries and cultures from around the world on display. Check out the different activities that the ambassadors have planned specially for you. Learning something new about each one of them will give you an appreciation of the interconnected world we live in.

Remember to bring cash to sample the delicious food that will be sold from three ethnic restaurants, Italian, Chinese, and Indian, so come prepared to feed your mind and your palate. We also have four exciting and diverse cultural shows planned for you – Japanese Taiko Drums, Brazilian martial arts, Scottish ballads and a puppet show from India. This unique event has something enriching for all ages and interests.

Located on Highway 7, kids at the Excelsior Elementary School take classes in reading, writing, grammar, spelling, handwriting, math, science, social studies, health, art, music, media and technology and physical education. Minnetonka school district elementary students also have the option of Chinese or Spanish immersion beginning in kindergarten. In 2009, the Minnetonka school district introduced the Navigator Program for exceptionally gifted students.  The program serves a small, very unique group of learners with high IQs. Scenic Heights Elementary and Excelsior Elementary are home to the Navigator Program.
