Lucid Brewing's Camo Double Pale Ale a Locally-Brewed Delight

Minnetonka-based Lucid Brewing is new to the Twin Cities brew scene.

Launched in 2011, the self-proclaimed 'beer geeks' set out to create craft beers approachable for novices, yet complex enough to give beer lovers something to discuss.

Intrigued by the ideals of this new local brewery--and trusting Wine Shop Manager Tyler's advice--I picked up a bottle of Lucid's Camo Double Pale Ale.

Considering its 9% ABV, the Camo Double Pale is extremely 'drinkable.'

The micro brew pours a clear amber color with a medium-sized head. Its nose carries powerful floral aromas and hoppy scents.

It has a definite bitter bite and above-average hoppiness, but it's all balanced well. Flat-out hops haters may not enjoy it but any beer drinker with hops tolerance should give Camo a shot.

Personally, I sometimes enjoy an over-the-top hoppy brew if the mood is right, and this may not quite fit into that category. Instead I'll keep a few of these "easy drinkers" around for a hot summer day.

The Wine Shop in Minnetonka carries Lucid Brewing's Camo Double Pale in 22 oz. bottles for $6.99.

Has anyone else tried any of Lucid's offerings?
