Golden Valley was full of fur and fun Saturday morning as hundreds of people participated in the Walk for Animals. The annual fundraiser helps the Animal Humane Society provide services to animals in need.

Pet owner Carrie Orr raised $6,800 for the cause and then dolled up her dog in a cowboy outfit for the walk. "I come up with a different theme each year, just for something fun," she said. "This is a cause I really believe in and I'm happy to be here."

Orr was joined by hundreds of other pet owners. From greyhounds to guinea pigs, all sorts of four legged creatures were strutting their stuff through Theodore Wirth Park.

We need more warm and fizzy kisses in this world from our animals. They give what they get.

Adorable pictures - I couldn't make the may 5th. But I've wanted to the last two years. Great turnout anyways.

Thank you for posting! Kate
