Three of the World's Billionaires Come From Minnetonka
Forbes magazine released its list of billionaires. Who do you think has ties to Minnetonka?
Three of the world's 1,426 billionaires have ties to Minnetonka.
Out of the five billionaires from Minnesota, the richest are Barbara Carlson Gage, 70, and Marilyn Carlson Nelson, 73, according to Forbes magazine, who released its annual list of the world's billionaires Monday.
The daughters of Minnetonka-based Carlson founder Curt Carlson share the 316th spot on the list at $4.1 billion net worth each.
Whitney MacMillan, 84, is number 395 on the list with a net worth of $3.4 billion. His fortune comes from Minnetonka-based Cargill.
The five richest people in the world, according to Forbes, are: Carlos Slim Helu of Mexico (at $73B), Bill Gates ($67B), Amancio Ortega ($57B), Warren Buffett ($53.5B) and Larry Ellison ($43B).

Of course they are placed there to avoid tax liabilities while he is touring the State of Minnesota telling us that the rich are not paying their fiar share.
