Sam Nickolay, a senior at Minnetonka High School, received a $2,000 scholarship check from Mark Magney, membership chair of the Rotary Club of Minnetonka on Wednesday. 

Nickolay plans to study mathematics or computer science at the University of Chicago in the fall. The Rotary Club of Minnetonka gave out $6,000 in scholarships to area students this year.

The club meets at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Eisenhower Community Center on Hwy. 7 in Hopkins.
