Meth Found After Police Pull Over Man Near Ridgedale

Travis Lee Bjerke, of Ramsey, has been charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession.

Police say they stopped a vehicle near Ridgedale and found a 25-year-old in possession of meth.

Travis Lee Bjerke, of Ramsey, has been charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession. If convicted, the charge carries a penalty of 3-5 years and/or a $3,000-$10,000 fine.

On March 3, Bjerke was pulled over by Minnetonka Police on Ridgedale Drive for a cracked windshield and non-functioning brake light. Police found that Bjerke had a suspended driver's license and was told he could either walk to Ridgedale Mall or get a ride from an officer.

Bjerke requested a ride and asked to grab something first from inside the vehicle, according to the complaint. After retrieving a laptop bag, police say he gave officers permission to look inside. A small .22 caliber handgun was found inside, according to police. While searching the vehicle, police found a small quantity, less than 3 grams, of methamphetamine.

According to the complaint, Bjerke admitted the meth belonged to him and that he had picked up the gun for his friend who was in jail.
