At 11 a.m. today, the Minnesota Senate began a debate before voting on the controversial constitutional amendment requiring a state-issued photo ID to vote in a Minnesota election.

"I will not support this constitutional amendment," said Sen. Terri Bonoff (DFL-Minnetonka).

Bonoff said at 1:30 p.m. that due to the language found in this bill, it may be found unconstitutional. However, she said she is an advocate for voter verification and thinks Secretary of State Mark Ritchie has better alternatives, such as electronic poll books.

If approved, this will be the final vote on the bill and will put it on the November ballot.
