Letter: Minnetonka City Council Member Endorses Jan Callison
Jan Callison is running for re-election as a Hennepin County commissioner in the sixth district.
To the Editor:
This letter provides my enthusiastic endorsement of Jan Callison in her bid
for re-election to the Hennepin County Commission.
Jan is an outstanding elected official. More than that, she is an outstanding person who cares deeply about the people that she represents and the many issues that she confronts as a county commissioner. Jan is an excellent steward of the public trust. She is fiscally prudent and she constantly strives to deliver
high value services at reasonable cost to her constituents.
I had the opportunity to get to know Jan when I served with her on the
Minnetonka City Council. It was there that I came to know Jan's intellect,
her work ethic, her integrity and her absolute commitment to do what is
right. Jan always goes the extra mile to make sound, fact-based decisions.
She is objective in her decision-making. She digs hard for facts, studies
the ordinances and relevant law and makes sound, appropriate decisions. I
respect Jan because she has earned that respect.
I urge my fellow citizens to vote for Jan Callison as Hennepin County Commissioner. She is experienced, qualified and always prepared. I make this recommendation with absolute confidence. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brad J. Wiersum

Jan Callison is a nice person. She is also a big spender. During the recent forum between Jan and her financially concerned opponent, she said she has no idea of what to cut in the county budget.
Councilman Brad J. Wiersum, the writer along with most all the Mtka city councilmen have a vested interest in Jan getting elected. You see, Jan has and will vear County funds to those Mayors supporting her. Remember it is YOUR money, not Callison's to be doling out as she wishes.
Callison is a dangerous person when it comes to watching your funds. That is why she plans to vote to increase her salary in the next 3 months. That is why, as she said at the forum, that she plans no cap on spending.
The only responsible person to vote for is Dave Wahlstedt. He plans to consolidate departments where is make sense, and eliminate duplicate serves. Dave has a proven record of managing budgets.

Calliston is indeed a nice lady, however her record proves she is a big government spender. That's not what Hennepin county needs! Vote Wahlstedt to keep property taxes low and necessary services available to those who need them.
