I am running for Three Rivers Park Commissioner, because parks, trails, and natural areas have always been important in my life. My father taught me at a young age that we don't plant trees for ourselves, we plant them for our grandchildren. I take those words to heart, and have tried my best to live by them throughout my 40-year career.
I'm proud that my forward-thinking, financially responsible leadership has permanently preserved acres and acres of open space, forests, and wetlands, and has provided the parks and trails that will always make our communities special. I am honored that my Campaign Steering Committee for this nonpartisan election is being co-chaired by Minnetonka Mayor Terry Schneider, Edina Mayor Jim Hovland, Hopkins Mayor Gene Maxwell, Richfield Mayor Debbie Goettel, Shorewood Mayor Chris Lizee, and Hennepin County Commissioner Jan Callison.
I am also very humbled to have the endorsement of such respected leaders as Congressman Jim Ramstad, Senator Dave Durenberger, Governor Arne Carlson, and House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher. I hope you will join them and the many others who are supporting my candidacy for Three Rivers Park Commissioner. Great parks for today and tomorrow; that's my pledge to you, to your children, and to your grandchildren.
I sincerely thank you for your trust and support.
