Get Out and Grow! St. David's Center Hosts Fall Festival

The event will mark the seventh annual family fall festival for children of all ages and abilities to get outside and explore, learn and grow.

Celebrate the great outdoors and the family’s place in it at the Fall Festival: Get Out and Grow! presented by The Mosaic Company on Saturday, Oct. 6.

This community festival encourages children of all ages and abilities to get outside and explore, learn and grow.

“A number of studies have outlined the need for physical exercise and outdoor exposure as a powerful intervention to reverse several health-related and behavioral issues,” explained Julie Sjordal, executive director, St. David’s Center. “Our Fall Festival provides a fun opportunity for families and friends to spend quality time together, be active and encourage a curiosity for the outdoors.”

Located at 3395 Plymouth Road in Minnetonka, the festival takes place in and near the Center’s 2.5 acres of DNR-certified School Forest – one of only six in Hennepin County.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families will have opportunities to enjoy the fall colors with a horse-drawn wagon ride; get up close and personal with bugs, birds and fish; create outdoor crafts; explore the forest; and play games, climb rock walls or dance their energy away. Families can re-energize with kid-friendly, healthy snacks, lunches and beverages from the market while learning more about sustainable eating.
