For the second straight year, the Minnetonka girls hockey team won the State Class AA Girls Hockey championship, with a 3-0 win over Roseville.

After being outshot by Roseville in the first part of the opening period, Minnetonka capitalized on a power play goal with the first goal of the game by Holly Korn.

The goal energized the team, and the defense began to clamp down on the offensive weapons of Roseville.

Diana Draayer added another goal in the third period and gave an assist to Laura Bowman, as she made an empty net goal to seal the deal for the Skippers.

After the game, the celebrations began. First, the team piled up on goalie Sydney Rossman near the goal. With 24 saves, Rossman kept Roseville scoreless the entire game. Individual medals were handed out, and then the team hoisted their championship trophy to show to all of their fans.

Heading back into the locker rooms, head coach Eric Johnson was ambushed with a water shower by his team amongst loud cheers from the players.
