SAINT PAUL, MN (06/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University junior Matt Rowley from Minnetonka, Minn., was honored among an elite group of student athletes as one of the 15-player First Team All-Region players. The title came from the announcement of the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) / RAWLINGS Division III All-Midwest Region baseball teams in the final days of 2012 NCAA Division III baseball.
Rowley was chosen as a utility player for his ability to pitch, field, and hit. He was one of five Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) players on the highest caliber team. Rowley had incredible numbers in his junior campaign, leading the league in batting average (.427), hits (61), total bases (91), on-base percentage (.494), innings pitched (80.0), and starts (12) in overall games. The MIAC Player of the Year had a 4-2 record and 1.91 ERA in conference play.
